Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question

I do not see any product spec info for system voltage. I have a 24V system, has anyone attempted an install in a 24V system or something similar?

Asked by LEON on July 29, 2017

I have not with this but from past experience run hot wire to post. Post on battery not doubled and ground to frame . Leave turned off when cranking and a few minutes after to prevent getting 24 volts

If I purchase this heater, it will be mounted in a side by side. The area this will be mounted is subject to water & mud flying around. Can the inlet to the fan be ducted to inside the cab? Is the motor/fan sealed?

Asked by TONY on June 10, 2016

It's not a sealed unit, the air inlet is to tight against the water inlets to duct it anywhere, the best you could do is fabricate a shroud for this unit to deflect debris and water.

On the picture there is a setting on the switch that just says air. Do this have a setting to just circulate air and not have heated air?

Asked by MAC on February 28, 2018

Thank you for your question. The Summit 991102-1 Automotive Heater does not have a non-heated air function. The word air on the switch faceplate is there to designate what the switch is for. The switch has an off, low, medium and high setting.

I plan on installing this in a more modern car (neon srt4) under the dash against the fire wall, is this heater safe to connect air duct to the outlets to run to my stock vents and defroster?

Asked by AUSTIN on December 04, 2016

Don't install directly against the inside firewall because the heater hoses must me attached under the firewall, not on the outside of the firewall. Duct hoses are 3" flexible hose and mine run to the defroster. Heater works fine and I installed it on a 1951 Ford F1. You can call me for my experiences with the installation at 540 885-4487. Phil
