this gauge looks good, but with such a large degree of deviation it is virtually useless. At what temperature do you get an accurate reading? Within 10 minutes my gauge went from 5psi to 0!! I'm running a 350 chevy and it gets hot under the hood pretty fast.

Summit has a reputation of higher quality products that this one doesn't live up to....

When this pressure gauge got to around 100 degrees the pressure started dropping until it reached 0 psi. When temperature get down to 80 degrees or so pressure will return after you rerlieve pressure and then re-establish operating pressure. Pretty little gauge setting there showing 0 psi while engine is running.

this is the second build I have used this same gauge on, I dont know if I can trust the gauge. I can set the base fuel pressure, then in a few days I can go out to garage and before I turn the key on it may show 2 psi on the gauge. start engine and then shut off engine and the fuel gauge will not drop past 2 psi. it seem that the needle move. now I might come out a few days after that and the gauge might be back at 0 psi with the key off. there is no consistency with this gauge...though it still works and shows fuel pressure, just not positive that it is reading correctly ...read more

Seems to work for ballpark adjustments

I have it on a fuel log to the carb. It reads about 6.5 psi. where my actual pressure at the regulator reads 6. So its close. I wouldn't recommend on a High dollar high compression motor. Any street strip motor it would be enough.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, PEOPLE!

SUM-800115
Half the reviews on this gauge are complaining about how the pressure reading drops as the temperature increases. People should really read the instructions before giving something a bad review. It's a sealed gauge housing. Pressure inside the gauge changes with temperature, so the reading also changes, and you have to vent the gauge housing to equalize the internal pressure with atmospheric before you take a reading. I bought this gauge ten years ago already installed on a used fuel pressure regulator. It still works fine when you follow the instructions. My only complaint is that a little fluid leaks out around the vent plug. Better quality gauges have a pop-up vent, rather than a cheap rubber plug. ...read more

Not for under hood use

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

SUM-800115
As the heat under the hood rises, this gauge becomes inaccurate. When cold the gauge read 6.5psi (fresh built SBC with new everything). After the engine warmed up the pressure would slowly drop all the down to 1 psi. Spent many unnecessary hours tracking the possible cause (fuel line kinks, vacuum in tank, fuel tank selector valve). After making several unnecessary changes (luckily before I decided to replace the new fuel pump with another new unit) i decided to pull an old, non-fluid filled, gauge from anoth project vehicle. 6.5psi even after warmed up. Perhaps I got a bad gauge, but I won’t be buying fluid filled gauges for under hood use again (or will opt for higher quality). ...read more

Sorry guy's, but this item lasted me about one minute... Not very happy with this one. It worked when I first started the car, but was never working right, it was very eratic and would never tell me exactly what pressure I was putting out, it varied from 3-5 psi. then all of a sudden it just went back to zero and quit.... I could never get the needle to move again. However, your return policy is great because when I called and explained to T.J., the problem I was having, he did not hesitate one bit and was sending me another one, he even offered to get me another type if i desired. Thanks for that guy's and I'll let you know if this one works!!! ...read more

I have 3! Nice little gauge and very stable veiwing. Perfect for initial set up and monitoring. Watch your heat as liquid filled gauges vary when hot. Perfect for my applications and peace of mind. Thanks Summit!
