Q:

What flange bolts work with this?

Asked by JEFF on 12/7/2020

I used 1/2 bolts. Opening is .546

I don't think the slots in this flange are in the right place, honestly. 5/16 bolts work in the exhaust holes perfectly. But they're too big for the slots in the flange to work anything smaller just rattles around in the exhaust holes.

Q:

What gasket would i use with this?

Asked by R on 7/8/2020

Thank you for your question. Vibrant VPE-1457 would be a good match.

A little thicker than stock but fit well. Flat surface is easy to weld to.

Fast shipping and super nice quality flanges. Little thicker than I needed but still worth it.

The hole fits 2.5" tube really loose. It gives you wiggle room to weld the tube in crooked. --To get a tight fit, cut a 1/2" long piece of 2.5" tube, slit it, and stick it over the tube you're welding. --Tack the tube to the flange from the inside. --Fill the gap in the slit piece with some chopped up welding wire. Tack over the little weld wire pieces and break off the excess. -- Weld the tube from the inside. -- Sand the mating surface dead flat with a belt sander, or some sandpaper on a piece of glass. -- If you want, you can grind the mill scale off and run some silicon bronze into the flange to keep moisture from getting between the flange and the tube. -- Don't forget to sandpaper everything and wipe them clean. -- It's really nice when you can make a $7 part look like a $50 part if you put in the work.

The hole for the exhaust pipe is actually 2 5/8", not to 1/2". If you're expecting to weld these onto 2 1/2" exhaust pipe, you're going to have quite a gap. Other than the size not being as advertised, it's a good product.

SUM-626013
Big flange holes. so big i had to increase hole sign in my remflex gaskets to keep everything aligned. the hole for pipe was bigger than exhaust tubing was yet smaller than the expanded end of tube. took little work centering up. after welding tapped tubing to fit inside of flange. they are nice and thick no leaks
