These Summit® engine diapers are designed to keep oil off of the race track in the event of massive engine failure. They are manufactured from tough, high-tensile webbing and use an absorbent pad to contain up to 10 qt. of oil. The diapers install easily--just wrap them around your oil pan and then strap them to your header bolts on the sides and to the water pump bolts in the front. NHRA-approved for competition use, these Summit® engine diapers will make sure that you're safe and that the track remains clean if your engine encounters mechanical problems.

Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

Anyone who has purchased or install this, will this fit with an engine using the stock motor mounts?
I have a 1964 Chevelle with a 427 BBC and hooker super comp headers. 6 of the 8 tubes run inside of the frame.

Asked by ERIC on May 16, 2016

A:

I have used it. Install is easy. But it does melt on the headers. Clears motor mounts. Its aoft material that you can manuver around components

Q:

Does this make the engine run hotter during normal street driving? I drive my car a lot, but it will see track use as well.

Asked by RYAN on May 25, 2018

A:

If placing a diaper on your car initiates overheating issues you have bigger issues then just the diaper. Should not create additional heat

Q:

How wide of a pan will the fit over? I have very very wide kick outs on a custom SBC pan.

My oil pan on my SBF is 9" wide and it fits great.

Summit Engine Diaper

The Diaper appears well made but the attaching tabs seem less than robust. Fits relatively well on a 555 BBC. Reasonably priced and NHRA approved.

All though not mandated by NHRA yet I feel and car going down the track should be running a diaper. I have three 6.50 et / 1/8th mile cars and they all have them just for safety purposes. Great product and a great price!
