Q:

why can't this be used with mufflers ?

SUM-120108
Received my order from Summit Racing in a very timely manner...Once received the enclosed instructions were very clear and the Summit Racing Crankcase Evacuation System was easy to install. After installing my engine ran a lot better and the system cleared up my oil blow back problem.

Worked great as far as picking me up some extra HP. I would say around 15 to 20. Oil did start to leak from the seem on the breathers however. When I took them off they were not oil soaked like I thought they might be and the hoses were completely dry. I have since replaced the breathers with another brand.

the overall quality of this product is very good. it was very easy to install, hardest part was removing the exhaust to place it and weld it in place. as far as operation I have no more pressure build up, and no more oil blowing past the gaskets.

Caution

SUM-120108
When using the breathers, make sure you take out the foam. I learned the hard way, as the foam actually plugs the breather exit, resulting in as you can guess pushed out gaskets. This was in a full race motor, so maybe on the street it would be ok.

KIT WORKS WELL BUT THE BREATHERS LEAK OIL OUT OF THE CRIMP AT THE BASE. HAD TO SILICONE THEM SHUT TO STOP OIL FROM DRIPPING OUT.
