Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

I have a 400 sbc and I want to change the cam wondering if this cam would work for basically a stock 400 chevy only put a summit carb and high rise intake (stage 1) with headers looking for a mid type cam and what would I need to change with cam?

Asked by JOE G on October 03, 2017

A:

This can may be a bit too much for a basic stock motor.
Look over Summit cams and step down 1 or 2 part numbers and you may be ok.
The motor I have the cam in question is bored 30 over, balanced, good flowing cast iron Sportsmen heads, good Victor Jr aluminum intake, 28,000 yo 32,000 stall converter and vacuum canister.

Q:

I just bought an early model 283... Its bored 10 over but it is still only a 285... It says its recommended for 327s? Would it work in my 283?

Asked by on June 26, 2017

A:

I'm sure it would work. Weather it would be the optimum cam for your application, I don't know. I put mine in a .30 over 327 but I haven't got it running yet. Good luck.
