Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

Why do these injectors look different than my stock ones? Will they still work with my own set up?

Asked by JAY on October 21, 2017

A:

Yes they will work, just plug them in to the stock harness. These injectors are actually an upgrade. The stock spider is mechanical and these are electronic. I Installed the electronic upgrade on my 97 Tahoe a couple years ago and the truck runs better now with over 200,000 miles than when I first bought it. Good product would recommend to anybody

Answer This Question

Q:

I have not bought these injectors yet so before I do I would like to know that these are going to work for me. I have 99 tahoe with the 5.7 vortec and my spider injectors are bad. I really would like an upgrade but someone's previous review said that these dont reach up to 55 psi. If anyone could help me that be awesome!
Thanks!

Asked by DALTON on May 27, 2018

A:

Thank you for your inquiry. The Standard Motor Fuel Injectors FJ504 are designed as a factory replacement for your 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe. At this time there is no upgraded or aftermarket injection system for your application.

Great product but you have to do your homework

These are a vast improvement over the OEM spider injection system. But they suffer from too low pressure. Be sure to understand these are supposed to be 55psi to 62psi. Many do not make it to 55. They will need to be boosted to get there.

The unit worked as advertised but I took off one star for less than stellar documentation. The documentation could be improved with better or more complete information on what is included in the package and where. I looked for the O-rings that were included but finally figured out that they were already installed. It would also be helpful to have more complete removal and installation instructions. I give Summit Racing folks 5 stars based on this and previous purchases. ...read more

A worthwhile hassle!

Installed on 1999 5.7L Yukon, eng now starts faster and idles smoother than stock mechanical injectors did. My only advise is grease the center oval where the harness connector plugs through, and don't push on it to seat the upper Int Manifold- gently tighten the center 4 bolts with an impact it will pop right into place. You DON'T need the "required" updated harness bracket, it will fit the stock one. ...read more

After talking with a mechanic and read some reviews I really thought replacing the injectors was going to suck. As long as you prep the spider setup (get the injectors oriented in the right direction in relationship to the plug body) and work inside to outside when inserting the injectors you should do alright. Make sure you clean and grease the plug cavity on the upper intake, i didn't and it was a pain to get the plug body seated right. That was my own fault, and I can't blame that in the product. Performance wise, they're great truck fires right up with a flick of the key, has a smooth power curve and makes awesome power. It feels better than when it was new. ...read more

Was expecting to see a bigger difference in performance but I hear that these require higher fuel pressure to operate properly anyway so that considered I'm pretty happy with them. Just bought a programmer and I expect these will perform much better than stock when the tuning is done.
