Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

A couple posts mentioned a "drive shaft speed sensor" Why isn't that listed as something I can order? This product seems to be looking for a purpose. The directions describe how to install it in vehicles that should already have cruise control. So what is the point? Older vehicles with a cable driven speedometer are where this is needed. But no obvious support. BTW, I am using a torqueflight 727 and need a speed sensor that can connect to it while maintaining the original speedometer function. Anything available or am I wasting my time?

Q:

Will this on a 1992 Honda Accord coupe

Asked by SHELDON on September 03, 2017

A:

Rostra has never listed the 1992 Accord on any application chart and there must be a reason for that. It could be that all the Accords came with cruise or that there is a safety issue with the throttle or pedal pull and (if required) clutch disengagement switch. It may not have been cost effective to engineer adaptors. Your Honda has the factory vehicle speed sensor (4000 pulse) and tach signals available so you could make the cruise work but you would need to pay close attention to throttle issues.
