Which kit is more suitable for pro-touring, level 2 or level 3? I have a 70 Chevelle. Please help so that I can make the proper purchase or would you recommend a different kit from QA1 or should I go with Ridetech? Thank you in advance.

A:

The level 2 kit is intend more for street cars and will improve the handling and allow the customer to lower the car. The level 3 kit builds on the level 2 kit with slightly higher spring rates, double adjustable shocks and is overall more adjustable. If you are building a comfortable street car I would use the level 2 kit. If you are going to be racing the car I would use the level 3 kit.

A:

Thank you for your question. QA1 HK02-GMA1 fits 1964-67 GM A-body cars while QA1 HK02-GMA2 fits 1968-72 GM A-body cars. Both kits are considered level 2 handling suspension systems.

Hi Edgar, This kit has springs in it that are more suited for a small block. We do offer the kit without shocks and springs (HK12-GMA2), and this allows you to add the proper front and rear spring setup you need. In your case, if it's an average weight big block car, a lot of people find the 550# spring to be best. Your part number on the front coil-over kit would be GS401-10550B. The rear kit would be RCK52340. Order the front and rear coil-over kit when you order the HK12-GMA2, and you will be good to go....Also, there is no price penalty for doing this.

Very good but missing some small items

This should have been a 5 star rating but the QA1 kit did not include new bolts for the upper and lower A Arms. New hardware is included for everything else but not the front control arms. This is unacceptable for a complete kit. Come on QA1 let's get it together, 4 bolts per side is all you need to include. One other thing to note, the bottom A arms have a screw-in plate to mount the coil over shock. Alignment of the welded nuts to the screw holes required some extra drilling to prevent a guaranteed cross threading on some of the screws. ...read more
