Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question

Do I need the electronic conversion kit it addition to this?

Asked by RYAN on June 16, 2017

No. Works like a similar style coil. The electronic conversion is still an improvement, to gain the most from it.

Bypass the ballast resistor. MSD cautions this could reduce coil life

Does this coil require a resister to be fitted to operate

Thanks Chris

Asked by CHRIS on March 30, 2018

Chris, a resistor is needed if you are hooking this coil up to a points system or an electronic system requiring additional resistance such as a Pertronix Ignitor. If hooking up to an MSD Ignition Box then no resistor is needed.
