Good spacer

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

MRG-6006
Not much to write here. The spacer is a pretty boring piece of an engine, that is until it becomes warped making it impossible to seal to the car or manifold. This unit from Mr Gasket is exactly the same as one I installed on an engine 25 years ago and it works extremely well. Flat on both sides it cured the problem and i have no doubt I will never have to mess with it again. ...read more

Mr. Gasket 1” carburetor spacer

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

MRG-6006
Spacer’ casting appeared well made. Spacer did not “rock” when placed on a machinist flat surface. BUT when a machinist straight edge was placed across its surface, the center of the spacer was “low” and “light” could be seen between the straight edge and spacer’s center. Was the spacer designed to be low in the center SINCE it was only solid across one side whereas the other 3 sides were not? If the two corners bolts of the spacer’s that were not solid were over tightened, it might allow that end of the spacer width to decrease eliminating the low spot in the middle of the spacer? This space was made from a "cast" without machining with one of the throttle bore's opening cast slightly wider than the flange on the intake manifold (manifold manufactured by a company with a long history of quality products). The included studs were 1/2” too short and required a trip to the parts store. Considering the issues discovered makes this spacer compareable to relative other priced spacers. As we know quality is not cheap and I received what a low price offers. I would recommend this spacer to others if they do NOT want to pay for quality of other spacers costing 4 to 8 times more. I received what I paid for: low manufacturing standards. ...read more

Spacer has one flat/solid exterior side, the other three are not. Port diameter is approx 1.68" which is slightly larger than ports on Holley 600cfm 4160 carb. Two gaskets and hardware all were good quality.

solid bottom, not hollow. solved my vacuum leak

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

MRG-6006
AMC 401 edelbrock intake. This intake has thin plenum walls, my first spacer was plastic with hollow voids in the bottom that allowed air to go up, around, and down the inside of the intake causing a massive vacuum leak.
