This increased thermostat height is helpful for cars that have radiators slightly higher than the intake manifold. These KRC spacers are manufactured from billet aluminum and feature an anodized finished for protection.

Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

Anyone know what lines are used in this picture?

Asked by KEVIN on February 09, 2018

A:

6an to 3/8 npt. You can run your choice of rubber, or like most aluminum pipe. Your outlets on the intake will be 6an to 1/2 npt. This is a lot of flow. And the thermostat goes on the intake, NOT as shown.

Extra Sender Port

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

KRS-KRC15375000
I bought this spacer so I could have a port for my water temp gauge, because my two intake ports were used by heater hose and electric fan sender. Unlike the other brands this spacer relocated the thermostat to the top of the spacer so your sender would be reading the water temp before the thermostat opens. You will need to buy a thermostat housing gasket to use this spacer. ...read more

Excellent piece

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

KRS-KRC15375000
I needed to raise the water neck so upper Rad hose would clear a 90 degree fitting I installed on coolant port to tie water pump (to eliminate a pump cavitation problem I believe I had) and this fine work of art, did it in style and accurately. The beauty of it is, are the two ports drilled and tapped, which I will run coolant hoses to a future intake manifold (I wasn’t able to wait for backordered intake) that has threaded ports at the rear coolant passage to get rid of the heat at the rear of the heads, quicker and more evenly. Crate engine I had already installed has Edelbrock Intake with the rear ooolant ports blocked off. Didn’t pay much mind, until after break-in, the temp would climb to 230 degrees at idle, but would drop right down when idled up, thus, in addition; possible pump. cavitation problem cure. The KRC unit is a Godsend. One other review had stated the thermostat did Not go on top as it shows in the picture. I disagree. I placed it on top as that is where heat will rise to the highest point. It works great! ...read more

3/8 NPT?

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

KRS-KRC15375000
This part is showed as having 2 female 3/8 NPT ports. It chewed up and ruined two 3/8 aluminum NPT Edelbrock fittings ($$$) in less than two complete rotations (thread engagement for 3/8 NPT is 3/8"). All parts are ruined and I'm now out some serious money because of this. Buyer beware.

Great product

I use this spacer for sensor location rather than its use as pictured. The thermostat located above the 3/8 pipe holes makes sure the sensors read the same as the thermostat.
