Just installed last weekend, backed with 40003 fitech fuel command system. 1966 chevelle resto mod, with 350/700r4. Replaced a edelbrock 650 with electric holley fuel pump. Fairly easy to install, with the command system, it took approximately 5 hours in my driveway. Easy to follow instructions, and I was expecially surprised that the kit came with all connections and all the wiring was more than long enough (almost too long) to install with no wire extending (amazing). Only issue is that all the fuse blocks are right behind the throttle body and almost impossible to hide, almost. I was able to hide under the vacuum hoses and distributer. Additionally, all the vacuum ports are located on the rear of the throttle body, and keeps the front of the intake looking clean. Came with all gaskets and clamps, although I found that the supplied clamps (for the O2 sensor) were way too large and wouldn't clamp to my 2 1/2 inch exhaust. Once installed and everything was checked and double checked, the starting process was began. Following the easy to follow instructions, all information was inputted into the ecu. First start up was almost too easy, ending cranked 3 times and kicked right off. RAN FLAWLESSLY!!! Let the engine get up to temp, and let it cool back down, turning off and restarting several times, checking for issues in starting. Every start, barely one crank and it kicks off (unlike with my old carb). Drove approximately 10 miles prior to having to put it away for the evening, and the incoming weather. Drove smoothly, extremely responsive, and never bobbled. Still need to do some fine tuning on the TV valve cable, to get my tyranny shifting correctly, but the engine feels snappy and seems to have more power.. hoping to get more miles on soon, but will probably have to wait until next spring, but so far so good. The hand held gives you some much information about the system running, including several things unknown too me. Only issue is that the wire connections from the throttle body, attach to the top of the unit, making it hard to find a good place to mount and hide the wires. All in all, the system seems to work as good as they say, and I have high expectations for it.. I read every review I could find on fitech and was a bit sceptical, but pulled the trigger and ordered it. I have only put about 60 miles on it, it is a great improvement over the after market carb that I had on the truck. I mounted the Fi-Tech 400 on my 80 Chevy K30 (1 ton) with a GM Performance crate motor. Compared to the carb, easier, faster starts, greatly improved drivability, I can already see an inprovement in fuel mileage. At less than a 3rd of the cost of other FI's and about 1 3/4s the price of 2 carbs, you can't beat it. The only complaint I have was, it had to be backordered, but afterseeing and useing it I can understand why they can't keep up with the orders. Thank for a great product!!! ...read more

The throttle body was easy to install and the initial setup worked. I would have liked a descriptive tuning guide instead of having to talk to tech support whenever I run into something. Also I was told the laptop software isn't available for the street 400hp version. Other than the above I really like this thing. My performance and fuel economy have improved. This definitely lived up to all of the rave reviews. I installed it with the Fuel Command Center on my '77 Firebird with an Olds 350 and it fired right up! I did run into a few problems - this will not just bolt right on to any application, but you have to expect that. Frist, it does not come with any cable studs and the studs on my Rochester 4bbl are pressed on. I was able to use Edelbrock's universal throttle stud with no issues. Second, the linkage will not clear the EGR valve channel on my Edelbrock Performer intake without a spacer. I had ordered a square-to-spread bore adapter plate and luckily is just thick enough to allow the linkage to clear, but I still need a thicker spacer if I want to connect the kickdown cable - the linkage still won't clear the EGR channel with the stud installed (I've tried two different studs with no success). Lastly, for the Fuel Command Center installation, I had to buy an adapter and a 90 degree fitting to connect the output from the mechanical pump since it uses a threaded, hardline connection. None of these things are show stoppers, but hopefully they help you order everything you are going to need. ...read more

Great product. Fitech tech department needs a little improvement except for cody thanks to him I got my system running. Make sure white wire is at 12v while cranking some wires will drop for sec while cranking and will cause system to not run.

After receiving the product (late) and working with the tech at FITech, I finally got the system running. The instructions are not complete so contacting FItech was a must. The self learn does not work. Car runs well when hot, but will not start when below 80 degrees, so mornings the car does not start.
