Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

We have an Edelbrock Marine Carb. EDL-1410, which is leaking fuel into the intake ports from one side of the round shaft into back ports, behind the choke plates. Is there an 0 ring or seal that we can replace or can we purchase a replacement round shaft. Carb. has only few hours on it and causing engine to run very rich. Thanks, Dave

Asked by ROBERT on January 19, 2018

A:

What you have described here is that your float level is too high, causing what you are seeing a leak or drip, please remove the top lid and re-adjust both floats, and use a 7/16" drill bit as a measuring tool to set the float levels, with the top lid removed and inverted upside down, you want to be able to roll or slide the drill bit on top of the gasket, halfway under the float, before the drill bit raises the float. you can go to www.edelbrock.com and go to Carburetors and you can see Edelbrock has How-To's and Video's showing you and helping you to perform this task. If you you feel unsure, you can call Edelbrock at 800-416-8628 m-F 7am-5pm PST

Answer This Question

Q:

Is this carb blow through capable? Looking to add a turbo but don’t know if I’ll need a new carb.

Asked by CORY on February 13, 2019

A:

No not at all in any way, as they only come with brass floats, which will collapse in a blow through application....

Q:

What is meant by "Mid marine performance" I have a 5.7 liter chevy Mercruiser thats been upgraded with a Vortec intake and heads. Now has about 9.65:1 compression. will this carb run rich enough to stay out of detonation?

Asked by DAVE on August 24, 2018

A:

Edelbrock Recommends their Marine 600 cfm # 1409 for SB Chevy's, even with Vortec intake and heads, it is still a 350 cid, if it is detonating, enrichen up the calibration, just don't throw a larger carburetor on top....
