Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

Duane: I found an article in Rod Authority titled "Constant Velocity: Controlling Cruise Speed With Dakota Digital" about your system and in the article, instead of mounting the sending unit to the transmission speedometer sending unit, they mounted it to the back of the '66 Plymouth Valiant's speedometer. I have a 1956 Chevy 3100 and the speedo cable also screws to the back of the speedometer. Will the Dakota Digital sending unit fit the back of my speedometer also?

Asked by DUANE on December 08, 2018

A:

Thank you for the question Duane, you can mount the speed sender to the trans, or the back of the speedo head itself. The sender is a standard GM thread and should be compatible in either position.

Q:

Does this cable come with a bracket for the top of the engine by the linkage? I have a carbureted 383 sbc with a th350 in my 68 camaro. I already have the Lokar kickdown and throttle cables with their bracket in place.

Asked by JACK on January 30, 2019

A:

Thank you for the question Jack. The kit will come with some universal brackets for the typical installation. It is considered a universal kit and will work with your current brackets. Any questions, you are welcome to contact Dakota Digital Tech Support.

Answer This Question

Q:

Is this still a vacuume style or is it controlled by a servo style system?

Asked by WAYNE on August 09, 2016

A:

Thank you for your question. Dakota Digital CRS-2000-3 is not vacuum driven. It has a pickup that attaches to the transmission which then sends a signal to the control box that would operate a cable to keep the same speed. Instructions can be found on our website under the Overview tab.
