Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

do I need two kits one for left side and one for right, or just two o2 sensors??

Asked by RICHARD on August 16, 2017

A:

One kit for each side. However I would look into a kit that has a dual sensor input.

Q:

I have a 2006 LS2 GTO.Rear O2 sensors are turned off.I would like to know if I could thread the WB O2 fitting into the rear sensor O2 bung and get an accurate reading.I'm running long tube headers with catless mid pipes.

Asked by RANDY on November 20, 2017

A:

Hi Randy, thanks for your question. Ideally, you want to mount the sensor 18-24" from the exhaust ports to minimize deadtime, but if you have unused bungs available on your headers there should be no problem mounting the sensors in them. Please make sure that the bungs have been installed so that the sensors are positioned at an angle per the instructions. This will prevent condensation buildup on the sensor when the engine is turned off, which will ensure the life of the sensor is not shortened prematurely.

Q:

How close can you install this 02 sensor to the cars
main ecm 02 sensor ? From the end of my shorty headers
to the top of the cats room is very tight! I may have to install this 02 sensor after the cats .

Asked by TOM on November 29, 2017

A:

Hi Tom,
You will want to install the sensor 18"-24" down the collector pipe, at an angle that is illustrated in the instructions to prevent condensation build up on the sensor when the vehicle is off. You can install it further but it will affect the deadtime slightly.

Q:

Does this work well with boosted applications? And is it compatible with ms1

Asked by BLAKE on January 04, 2018

A:

Hello Blake and thanks for your question. The 30-0300 X-Series Wideband UEGO AFR Gauge performs the same whether on a naturally aspirated or boosted engine. You will need to mount the sensor post turbo per the instructions. X-Series Widebands have a 20ms average response time, which is independently tested to be the fastest available wideband against 17 other controllers. This allows the X-Series to report transient changes in AFR that other controllers may miss, which will provide you with data and/or feedback control to get the best possible tune. As long as the MS1 has analog inputs there should be no issue connecting the X-Series Wideband Gauge to it, since it has a 0-5V analog output for logging and feedback control. We also publish our CAN bus protocol (AEMnet), so if MS has provisions for CAN and accepts 3rd party CAN data, then you can also configure it to the MS1 via CAN. You will need to check with them on that, though.

O2 sensor is garbage

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

AVM-30-0300
Had this gauge in my mustang with a 347 for a month and the sensor went out. I contacted aem and they don’t warranty the sensors, even after only a month. They just give you a bunch of talk about how there’s too many variables that effect o2 life, even though my car has 3 o2 sensors and theirs was the only one that went out. Car was tuned with quarterhorse and has perfect a/f ratios. Gauge works great, aem should step up and offer some kind of warranty for the sensor. Will never buy another aem product. ...read more

Owned two and both broke

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

AVM-30-0300
I have owned the non x-series UEGO and it lasted for 18 months. I replaced it with the x-series UEGO and it lasted 17 months. The non-x series lost 1 led in the display and then another led, a few weeks later. The x-series would start showing lean and every now and then, would work for a minute, before going back to full lean. I assume its the o2 sensor going bad. The UEGOs come with a 12-month warranty. The x-series unit I have a spare o2 sensor for. If I had to go over, I'd have to pass on AEM products. ...read more
