Can I use the stock fuel pressure regulator on a GM vortec fuel injection system with this pump kit? Or do I need to purchase the aeromotive regulator to make the fuel system work correctly?

A:

You should be able to just fine. I used my OEM ford regulator for my EFI... just plumb it

Q:

I have (2) lines from the engine (2005 silverado engine)
1 is the pressure, the other "is it a return line or a vent line and will the 18689 work?

Answer This Question

Q:

Can this be put in a 19 gal 12"x12"x30" summit aluminum tank

Asked by CURT on May 01, 2018

A:

Probably. I believe it requires 11 inch depth minimum so it should work. You’ll have to drill a 3 1/4 inch hole and 8 screw holes and flush it out. Easiest if you remove the tank.

So far so good, fit and finish was very good. Only thing I did not like were boots over electric conections were poor fit,did not want to stay in place.

Intank fuel pump worries.

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

AEI-18689
I recently did a Resto-Mod build on a 1960 Ford Thunderbird. As part of the build I put a Lincoln Mark VIII engine and transmission in it. The fuel injection required a high pressure pump. After talking to many people I decided to go with an in tank pump as opposed to an in line one for many reasons. However, I was a bit apprehensive about drilling a large hole in my brand new fuel tank. Knowing it was the proper way to go I went ahead and ordered this kit and got started. Between the very clear instructions that came in the kit and the many on line videos showing people installing this pump in their own cars, the installation went very smoothly. I am glad I made the decision to go with the Aeromotive unit. It runs quiet and delivers all the pressure I needed. ...read more

nice pump, bit pricey but seems solid. I had to order the extension kit which is way over priced. would have been nice to get a few AN6 fittings too, at this price I feel they should have been included.
