Q:

I bought your flex plate HP4004X-EBP
To go on our LS7 engine with a 4l80E trans !
do I need to use this spacer ?

Asked by KARRI ANNE on May 08, 2017

A:

You need the spacer to center the torque converter in the crank shaft if the flex plate you got is flat the spacer goes between the crank and flex plate if it's a dished shape flex plate it goes over the flex plate.

Q:

Is this the only piece required or do i also need the flexplate spacer?

Asked by RYAN on February 04, 2017

A:

If you use this hub adapter and the curved/dished flexplate, you do NOT need the flexplate spacer. Do not combine the spacer and a curved/dished flexplate, transmission damage can happen.

Works Great

This flexplate adapter fits really good on the crankshaft and the torque converter sits well in the adapter. The spacing looks correct. If using the stock LS flexplate and stock TH350 torque converter you might have to oblong the converter mounting bolt holes. They are about an 1/8th of an inch off. Well at least mines were.

Bought a 5.3 vortec in a hybrid silverado. Had to get rid of the stator and armature because wasnt working. Put this ring in the crank flange new bigger torque convertor. And a flex plate. All fit great. Project trike is in full motion.

Not Needed for 6.0L

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

HUP-HP3795
If you have a 6.0L pay attention to see if your flex plate is flat or concave. The flat flex plate matches up to a TH350/400 without the need of the adapter. Hoewever, the bolts do not line up. So you either need to do some shade tree machining or buy a new compatible flew plate.
