E-Stopp push-button electric emergency brakes are perfect for custom trucks, street rods, or any vehicle. They not only free up room on the chassis and in the interior, but double as an anti-theft device when the activation button is hidden. The E-Stopp units will work with any kind of braking system that can accept an emergency brake cable; and they mount anywhere there's room on the chassis. Kits include the actuator, the control box with lighted push-button switch, and wire connectors. E-Stopp push-button electric emergency brakes are controlled by a microcomputer that regulates the amount of pull--they will only pull up to 600 lbs. before they're locked down. The button has a detachable head for easy install, and allows both visual and audible recognition. Also included is a patented ignition safety feature that renders the brake inoperable while the ignition is on. E-Stopp recently added another ground sync wire that can be hooked up to the parking symbol light on your dashboard. Again, this system can be used as a theft deterrent by hiding the e-brake button under the dash or in the glove compartment, or by installing a kill switch. Basically, if someone doesn't know how to unlock your rear end, they'll have a difficult time stealing your vehicle.

Q:

I understand this does not include any cables. The site suggests the Wildwood parking brake kit or the Lokar EC-80FU. Would those work? If not what cables are recommended for this system?

Asked by JOSE on February 22, 2019

A:

I used the Wildwood kit and it's working great.

Q:

I cannot fit this unit in my model a build. I purchased the control box and would like to buy just the actuator without the box and extra cable. Would anyone be willing to tell me what the actual actuator part number is from inside their box? I don't want to buy the wrong part.

Asked by BRANDON on January 11, 2018

A:

There isn’t a part number on the actuator sorry.

Could be a great product if it only fit!

I thought this was going to be the hot setup for my '64 Cobra Daytona Coupe replica. Its current e-brake handle doesn't provide enough leverage to work the Wilwood mechanism and, since I have no side windows, thought the E-Stopp would give extra theft deterrence. I measured prior to ordering (using dimensions in add) to insure I had enough room for the box as everything is pretty tight(and short). It says you have 21" of cable with the kit. What it doesn't say and the picture doesn't depict is you have to mount the box at least 18" ahead of the e-brake connections as the cable can't really be shortened much. After receiving the unit I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out a mounting location but the total unit was simply too long and I had to return it. So the 2 stars are more for the size limitations and poor info in the add vs the mechanism itself. ...read more

installation problem

ESC-ESK001
I only had one problem with the installation. The cable on the actuator was not in the fully released position, as received. When it was first hooked to the car's battery, it immediately released about 1 inch of cable and fouled up the cable adjustment. It could require relocating the actuator or the combiner bracket, if this always happens. The instructions need to make the installer aware of this possibility, or the actuator needs to be sent out with cable fully released, so it's ready to be hooked to the parking brake cables. The cable housing length is now only about 5-1/2 inches and the total cable length about 11 inches, not 21 inches. That's good because the total length may be too long to work on some cars. ...read more

Really impressed

I installed this in a 67 Mustang Fastback and got rid of the old pull handle factory system. I did this as I was converting to an all disc brake setup. This system is extremely easy to use and install as long as you have some wiring skills and basic knowledge of an emergency brake system/setup. I would definitely order another one if I ever needed it. Can't speak for longevity as I just installed it and tested it only a few times, but I'm sure it will last. I rated it only 4 stars as for what it truly is, it's a bit on the pricey side. Really neat system and adds a trick piece to your car. ...read more

Electric E-brake

Ran short on space to put the factory hand brake back on a customers build. Purchaced the E-Stopp unit and was beyond impressed. It's very simple to install, has an illuminated push button actuator, small receiver, and an audible chime while functioning. I liked it so much that I'll be installing one on my own ride. Great product!
