ACCEL SuperBox CD ignition systems are ideal for street/strip vehicles. Being the perfect blend of value and performance, SuperBox systems are built around durable cast aluminum housings, can be set for 4, 6, or 8-cylinder applications, and easily connect to points, amplifiers, and magnetic pickup distributors. When the engine is running at low rpm, these modern capacitive-discharge ignitions fire a series of multiple sparks that last for 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation, ensuring better combustion of the air/fuel mixture, as well as creating instant throttle response and a smoother idle. An adjustable rev limiter protects the engine in the event of driveline failure or the occasional missed shift, and they are fully adjustable with rotary dials in 100 rpm increments.

ACCEL SuperBox CD ignition systems feature:

* Multiple sparks for improved starting, idle, and throttle response
* Full power output at high rpm
* Easily connect to points, amplifiers, and magnetic pickup distributors
* Adjustable rev limiter for overrev protection
* 4, 6, and 8-cylinder applications
* Accessory harness available for plug-and-play on most applications

Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

Hey does anybody know if I can wire one of these into a 2001 F150 5.4 2v? I'm looking for the added performance for daily driving and just having fun. If this won't work, will any of these ignition boxes wire into the 2001 F150 5.4 2v?

Asked by JOEL on October 12, 2018

A:

Your vehicle features coil on plug, which means you have a coil per cylinder. The 61212 ignition box is designed to work with ignition systems that utilize a single coil.

Answer This Question

Q:

Will this work with the MSD Digital 2-Step Rev Controllers 8732.

Asked by DAVID on September 25, 2018

A:

David, Unfortunately, the 8732 will not work with the 61212 ignition box. It is designed to only work with the MSD 6AL part number 6425 or 64253 if you prefer black in color. The 6AL has special circuitry to recognize the 8732 2 Step module where the ACCEL box does not.

Thanks

Q:

Will this work with a mallory unilite distributor?

Asked by NICK on April 11, 2018

A:

I used this with a Pertronix distributor and it works great! It just needs a trigger just like a coil does. Should work just fine.

Answer This Question

Q:

can I use this with a points conversion part # 2010

Asked by DOUGLAS B on February 20, 2018

A:

Douglas,
You can use the two together. You just want to make sure you wire it properly so you do not short out the points conversion. You do not want any of the wires from the 2010ACC points conversion going to the coil as it shows in the instruction sheet when using a CD box such as the 61212. To properly wire, you would connect the Red wire from the 2010ACC to a switched 12V ignition source. This wire can be tied in with the same 12V ignition source that you are using for the 61212 if you so desire. The Green wire from the 2010ACC would connect to the white wire on the 61212 ignition box. The Brown ground wire would still go to a good clean ground. You would finish wiring the 61212 as shown for a points style ignition.
