| Transmission Dimensions
There are three ways to determine if that three- or four-speed automatic transmission lying on the floor of your garage will fit in your latest project: you can eyeball it, measure it, or look up the critical dimensions in this handy chart. Guess which one we recommend. Our chart gives you the critical dimensions—overall length and bellhousing-to-transmission length—you need to know to determine if that GM, Ford, or Chrysler slushbox will fit in your chassis. As a special added bonus, we also have the gear ratios for said transmissions to help you better determine the overall gearing for your vehicle.
