Wilwood brake proportioning valves are adjustable between 100 and 1,000 psi with a twist of a knob or the flip of a lever, and can reduce pressure up to 57 percent. They let you adjust brake bias quickly and easily to compensate for changing track conditions, or for big and little tire combinations. Wilwood machines each proportioning valve from billet aluminum and gives it a durable anodized finish.

Unsure of durability

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

Good: Small, easy to mount, unobtrusive appearance (not ridiculous red, juvenile purple, or yelling yellow). Bad: There is no way this is machined from billet aluminum. You can see the mold break line on it. Also, the aluminum is quite soft. When I assembled it the first time, I had leaks at both ports. I tightened down on it and it still leaked. So I disconnected the lines and inspected it. The flare seats in the valve had visibly and seriously deformed from the pressure of the steel lines. This was a surprise and I feared the part was now junk. However, in the end, I was able to tighten enough that it no longer leaks. I don't know what those seats look like now and I am not about to uninstall it to look, unless it leaks again. As a result, I am unsure of the durability and extremely disappointed about the misrepresentation of the material and manufacturing process. Note: I have not had a chance to drive the car yet and so cannot comment on the functionality of the part as a proportioning valve yet. ...read more

Brake swap tuning made easy

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

Swapping brake calipers and master cylinders can confuse the tuning of the brakes and locking up the rear wheels can lead to disaster. Plumb one of these guys in the rear brake line and tune the brakes yourself. Easy. The only negative thing I have to say is the limited availability of metric proportioning valves. I do a lot of work on foreign vehicles, and finding a 10mm x 1.0 inverted flare proportioning valve is hard. But if you have to cut into the brake line anyway, just use new 3/8-24 fittings and you're done. ...read more
