Cheetah for 727

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

A friend recommended using a Cheetah valve body in my circle track car, so I bought one. Installation was very straight-forward, and it worked perfectly from the first time I put it in gear. I'm very pleased with this part!

Recycled-Not new Valve body

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

Summit the company does Well in delivering parts to us here in Modesto,Ca, and with plans to install new B&M aluminum pan and flush this 727 Roadrunner 383 Bracket car, I was looking forward to installing everything at once, Packaging was Spot on from Turbo Action! Instructions kinda weak, as they mention about removing governor, an don't show what or where that is, just that's removal of trans is required, Since I only want to do this once, and than race it, Its best to all I can before a full-rebuild. When I looked at my existing valve body and compared to new Cheetah # 17156 s/n 2-140032 I noticed the pitting and rusted combo selector and kick-down attachment( kick-down-pressure rod not required on full manual, that is why I purchased this. Mine is missing ) I gave serious thought of Trans-go part number TF-3,Now I am buying Summit's TRansgo TRG-TF-3. The main Issues I have is the worn area were the transmission body has a seal the the valve-body extended out of case to connect the linkage, and the parts the seal (seals) is Worn out and was just bead blaster/re-plated and still is a worn part, in fact worse than my original 1968 part. That really is what bothered me the most, so I have to send back to Summit for Replacement and they will ship a replacement,( a cost to Summit ) I am afraid its going to be the same condition. . . I ordered a transgo reprograming kit today for my full race 727 ...read more
