Great part for budget builds

Installed into a 89 350 converted to carb, stock heads, single plane intake, 625 AFB, stock manifolds. Got the cam to experiment before upgrading heads and manifolds. Love it! Broke in nice, has a great sound through exaust and decent idle too. They do recomend a higher stall, but this is in an S10 and I'm not really missing it.

Better than expected

I bought this cam intending it to be "temporary" until I could sort out some other issues and then select a more-appropriate cam for my 400/TH400/3.31 axle. Twenty years later, I'm still using that "temporary" cam. It works so well overall that I've had no pressing need to upgrade. Enough torque in the 400 displacement that I'm using a stock torque converter. I have smooth idle, heaps of vacuum. Performance-per-dollar is very high. It might make less vacuum and have a rougher idle in a smaller-displacement engine, of course. ...read more
