400 Flexplate

Summit is and will be my go-to store for my race car needs but I did not have good luck with this item.. I installed it on the motor and could not get the gap set on starter to ring gear. The Flex plate had too much run out..(Egg shape) This was very noticeable after engine started.. Ended up replacing it. OEM plate was all kinds of messed up. This one seems pretty good. Fixed all issues as of right now with my starting problems. Welds on both sides which is a sign of good quality.

I had issues with this item because I could not get the clearance needed between the flex plate and the torque converter. The flex plate was too thick. Had to go back to my original part to get things to go together properly. I'm not sure if it was just mis-stamped, too thick or what.

Swapping the mistake someone made putting a 350 flexplate on a 400 i found the reason behind heavy vibrations and starters getting messed. Be sure to check starter clearence before installing tranny as my alignment changed having to shim starter body
