Nice, but room for improvement

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

Basically a good upgrade, and the best price for a complete kit. This kit was installed on an early A body 8.75" with Moser 4.5" BP upgrade. The good- Complete kit with good hardware. A great price. Looks great when installed. E brake and brakes stop and hold well. Areas for improvement- Some of the instructions are vague and the exploded view of the parts is not complete and clear in certain areas. One exploded view is the only pictorial included. The brake line attachment between the new calipers and existing is not clearly defined with the written instructions and not included in the exploded view. My installation required new, shorter hard lines on the axle for a clean installation. The emergency brake cable bracket holds the cable out of line with the caliper. It works, but pulls the cable through the caliper guide against a cast edge which will eventually wear through the cable. I still like this kit. For the price, I am happy. I would like to see the ebrake bracket corrected and the instructions better detailed with diagrams or pictures of key areas. ...read more

I installed the brakes 4 times in different ways before I figured out how to place the mounting hardware so the discs would mount without rubbing. The brakes do look nice and were a great value compared to other kits that I though about buying. ...read more
