Easy Twisting

This turning nut enabled me to "break" a Big Block Chevy engine loose. It had been sitting awhile, and a bit of water had entered it. I first filled the cylinders with oil, then put pressure on the crank, one way, then the other. It was soon loose, turning over and ready to disassemble. There was no ridge, just a rust pit about .010" deep on one cylinder. This "rocking" action would not have been possible using just the harmonic balancer bolt in the end of the crank shaft. This tool engages the woodruff key, allowing the engine to be turned in each direction. It is even better to use it on a free-spinning engine! more
