When our guys found this high-quality hose at such a good price, we thought they were trying to put one over on us. Luckily for you, this hose is just as good as the expensive stuff, without the big bill. Summit® stainless steel hose consists of a synthetic-nitrile inner tube with a partial stainless steel reinforcement inner braid. On top of that, we add a heavy-duty, protective, full stainless steel braid on the outside, making it exceptionally lightweight, flexible, and durable. Even better, our hose is designed to handle gasoline, oil, or coolant.

Stainless steel braid hose

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

This is the real deal, not a plastic braided stainless-look-alike hose. Frankly I jumped on it as the price is a fraction of the big name brands. I used size 6AN for 60 psi fuel hose and for tranny cooler lines. I recently re-ran the tranny cooler lines with longer hose and with one quick wipe down the three year old hose looked almost new. All plumbing was with 6AN aluminum fittings, no hose clamps except on fuel tank end of the fuel pump suction line. I wrap 3 or 4 layers of masking tape around the hose and cut through the tape and hose with a thin abrasive wheel, either a cut off saw or a Dremel tool. Remove the tape, slide a small worm gear hose clamp to near the cut end of the hose and tighten just enough to hold it in place. Touch up the end with a grinder and with the hose clamp still in place work it forcefully into the fitting. It is a tight fit, but it will go. Remove the clamp and finish the assembly. So much better than a barb fitting with a hose clamp. I cannot imagine successfully cutting the hose any other way. ...read more

Braded hose

Braid was more difficult to get a clean cut to assemble fittings than on brand name hose.

REAL braided hose

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

Don't bother with that cheap braid covering, invest in some real braided hose. The only thing to be aware of is possible fraying of the braid when you cut it. You MUST have a quality way of cutting it, if not you'll just crimp and mash it and that'll be a pain - literally. Find a way that works for you to keep the braid tight, or you'll be fighting a mess as it tries to separate from the hose. I used a worm gear clamp around the braid, then cut it. Release the clamp and then right into your AN fitting, and all will be well. Great product, Summit. ...read more
