Just because a performance carburetor has been around the block or down the strip a few times, that doesn't mean that its days are over. The solution is simple: Remanufacture it. Summit® remanufactured carburetors are rebuilt to our standards, using all-new gaskets, seals, needles and seats, power valves, and whatever other components are needed for each model. Then they're specially calibrated and 100 percent flow-bench tested to ensure performance, and made available at a budget price. What more could you ask?

Plug and play!

Bolted on my 69 Camaro, filled the bowl through the vent tube, hit the key and she started right up and idled. Runs like a new car!

quadrajet with divorced choke

I installed the carb and the car would not go. I removed the carby and stripped off the air horn to check the needle and seat. Below is a picture of the parts that required replacement or fixing. Not included are the 2 lead plugs that were installed on the idle air bypass as I just shot them into the bin in a fit of angst. So. The baffle plate had to be ground to fit the warped airhorn. (now somewhat straight). It was the reason why there was 2 air horn gaskets. The needle and seat could not hold vacuum and the needle was 'looped through' the hanger, not hung correctly. (Replaced with operable unit). The fuel pump was sprung with a spring that could sustain my bodyweight.(replaced with correct spring or at least better). The idle air circuit was blocked with lead plugs. (removed and piffed). The primary and secondary rods were 'no name' and along with the jets that were marked 70 but were definitely not, got replaced with real 70 jets plus 40 primaries and da secondaries. This at least to get the carby going. The power piston spring was way too heavy and was replaced. The float bowl, while new was adjusted way too low. And finally, the base gasket provided was incorrect and blocked the flow of manifold vacuum. (Replaced with correct gasket. Nuff said ...read more

Good alternative to rebuild

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

The carb arrived quickly , fit correctly and ran well out of the box. One of the arms on the choke linkage was slightly bent and would have been a problem but when straightened worked fine. Have no idea when it was bent but came out of the box that way. Picking seemed adequate so don't know. Much easier than rebuilding the old carb.

GREAT CARBURETOR

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

The new carburetor fit exactly as the original. There were NO issues with fuel lines or linkages. I installed the new carburetor and only needed to adjust the idle. The rest were set right out of the box and ready to run.

Summit Quadrajet

Purchased for my '69 Camaro 396. Just bolted it on, hooked up some linkage, plugged a couple vac ports, and fired right up after gas got into the bowl. Idles better and more responsive than others I've had and also rebuilt. Most rebuilts have problems and better to rebuild it yourself but this wasn't the case. Good carb, no problems at all. Recommend. ...read more
