I used this cam in a 302 powered 67 Ranchero that was intended to be a "sleeper" and tow cars to and from the track. Description says "fair idle" but it is a wee bit more extreme than that. I'm not saying it doesn't run nice or lacks power, in those respects it's awesome. My gripe is that the idle is obvious and when combined with the tell-tale rattle inside the headers it gets unwanted attention driving around town. I guess we can't have everything so I'm not going to sacrifice performance for the sake of a perfect idle. The "sleeper" idea is history. Bottom line... if you don't mind the obvious lope in traffic it's perfect for a semi-stock 260, 289, 302 or 351w. The funny part is that everyone else loves the idle and I've been asked to build three more 351w engines with the same cam. Good power range form 1500 on up. I'm running an automatic w/ a stock converter and shift kit, 3.0 gears, Performer intake, 1406 carb, headers with a Ford Duraspark distributor connected to an MSD 6A box. Instant starts even after sitting for months. Decent vacuum for power brakes and it pulls surprisingly strong for a small block. more
