Convenience of a trailer but easy to store!

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

We bought this because we have no more room for anything in the driveway and yard. It is easy to store, upright against a wall and one less thing to register every year! Being aluminum it isn't too heavy, but still much easier for two people to hook in. I do wish the ramp was longer. The ramp being so short makes it a bit difficult loading up a bike with such a steep incline. But overall we I am pleased with the product. ...read more

Rigid and reasonably light

This review is based upon my use of the Rage AMC-600-2 behind a 2WD Chevy Suburban. I mounted a WR250F and XR50 on the carrier. When the carrier arrived, the box was pretty beat up. Once opened, I noticed where a couple of the aluminum rungs had been bent and the hardware box ripped open, losing 2 bolts. 2 pieces had a bit of rust from rain. Overall, the packaging was poor. Setup wasn't difficult. I've read some complain about the lack of instructions. It's you basic Chinese assembly that requires a little bit of guess work. Installation was lackluster. The anti-sway collar doesn't take into account that receivers may have a lip around the outside of the opening, so only one of the three cinch bolts on the receiver side actually drew tight. On my truck, the carrier extends roughly 5' from the rear of the vehicle and was only elevated about 8"-10" above the ground at the furthest most point. Mounting the dirt bikes was easy. No complaints there. Due to lowness of the carrier's back end, I scraped pretty hard leaving the driveway (slight dip). Once underway, it carried the bikes well. My personal opinion is this carrier is a better candidate for hitch receivers that are 14" or above. As a matter of fact, it's a good alternative to loading bikes into the back of a lifted pickup. Owners of lower hitch vehicles should consider another product. ...read more

Carries my 2014 CRF 250R and my 2002 CR 125R with ease. I have not tried it with smaller bikes but do not think they would be a problem. I can insert it easily into my tow hitch by myself, it is well balanced. It extends out very far and is only a few inches tall on its own so visibility is a slight problem when it's not loaded. I added reflective tape on the back to help with that but may also add driveway markers to help draw attention at eye level. I have no problem at all when using it with my pickup truck but when I use it with my Sprinter van, the end drags on inclines and some bumps. This is because the hitch sits very low on the Sprinter van. The tail lights on the trucks are still visible when the bikes are loaded. The unit is well constructed. The main support is steel and the racks and ramp are aluminum. Assembly was easy, all the hardware is included and the instructions are easy to follow. This unit frees up the entire bed of the truck to transport anything you like and once unloaded, it can be removed very quickly to facilitate unloading the bed. Because it extends out so far, the ramps for my ATV won't clear the unit. I have to remove it before I can unload the ATV. This isn't a problem because of how quickly it can be removed, but I just thought I'd mention it. This unit stores easily along a wall. Assembled the dimensions are about 4'X5' but it is only a few inches thick/tall. ...read more
