Pypes Race Pro dual exhaust systems are designed to boost your car's performance to the next level--you'll get more power, better mileage, and a rich, throaty tone that cannot be ignored. Built to outflow and outlast factory exhausts, these systems feature mandrel-bent, 16-gauge stainless steel or aluminized pipe and precision-matched Pypes Race Pro mufflers. When it comes to flow, you just can't get anything better than Race Pro mufflers. These mufflers also feature a straight-through design and their throaty sound is surprisingly tame, considering the absence of any impedance when you look down them. At idle and low-rpm cruising, you will not draw much attention, but upon acceleration, bystanders look out! The Race Pros' aggressive sound is the result of applying a layer of stainless mesh around a unique internal perforated tube, accompanied by a healthy stuffing of basalt insulation before the units are sealed. These Pypes exhaust systems include stainless steel hangers, clamps, and instructions and have slip-fit connections for a fast and trouble-free installation (some cutting may be required).

Nice Product, Bad Fitment
Summit Racing Verified Purchase
I received my Pypes exhaust kit from Summit Racing. The first thing I noticed is that the mufflers were natural stainless instead of polished, like in the picture, and they were quite scratched.
This Pypes kit will require some modifications. I drive a 71 c10 Longbed and will need to take the kit to the muffler shop for additional bends. Without doing that, the current ground clearance at the front bend of the x-pipe is less than 3" with long tube headers (My truck is lowered 4" in the front). I believe that this kit would also fit better if you removed the existing crossmember and replaced it with a tubular one designed with spots for 3" exhaust pipe - otherwise, you either have to cut holes in your frame (no way!) or go underneath the crossmember.
The mufflers are supposed to be installed vertically, next to the driveshaft, but on my longbed the exhaust is about 6" too short to accomplish this. Maybe this is due to the fact that my truck is a longbed? Anyway, the mufflers are now sitting beneath the trailing arms, installed horizontally, until I can get to the muffler shop.
The mufflers sound great, but make sure you tighten them WAY tighter than you think they need to be. When I was testing the kit I blew one of the mufflers off the exhaust when I revved the engine - once the muffler falls off like this, it can't go back on because the fittings get deformed by the clamps.
All in all, this is a nice kit, but you will still need to go to the muffler shop for welds and fine-tuning. I think the
