Proform pumps crank out up to 35+ gpm, and deliver the cooling that can make the difference between a win and second place! Made of durable, lightweight die-cast aluminum, they're epoxy coated for corrosion resistance, and can be used for competition or street applications. They're available in several colors, and a 1.0 in. NPT to 1 ¾ in. hose fitting is included.

Pro form electric water pump

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

I reordered the second pump due to the housing breaking off on the first one. I am not very good at arguing the point so I felt at the time I needed the pump more than I need to argue who why and when . lets see how the second unit does on cooling my motor now.

Decent pump for the money

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

This pump is installed on a mild 302 (about 300 HP) used in a street/strip car. It's been in use on this motor for 6 months. 4.11s, 28" Hoosiers, runs 8.30s @ 80.5 MPH 1/8 mile. The car has a 31x19 dual core aluminum radiator and a set of LT1 Camaro fans. T-stat is a 195F unit. The pump, fans and radiator are able to keep the car in the 185~195 degree range driving. No issues at the track either - car comes back from a pass at 200~210F, gets back down below 200 by the time I get to the pit. I use an override switch to power the pump and fans with the car off, takes 60~90 seconds to cool the car below 180. Install notes - remove the pump screws and carefully separate the pump from the cast body and the gasket. Spray the gasket with gas-ka-cinch or similar then reassemble the pump. The plain gasket as delivered tends to leak. The pump inlet clears - barely - a stock 302 balancer. The "one less star" comes from the same part number pump I installed on a 351C. On the C, the pump inlet was so tight to the balancer that the lower hose would not fit. This might have been the way thta pump was drilled and tapped, but be aware you should dry fit all related components before final installation. You will have to re-engineer your alternator mounting to clear the pump. I used some home made spacers, all thread and the stock components - YMMV. ...read more
