Moser's steel spools are heat-treated and precision-machined. For racers watching their weight, aluminum spools are available for Ford 9 in. and GM 12-bolt units. They feature a thicker ring-gear flange and a large-diameter midsection for increased strength and weigh approximately 4 lbs. less than steel spools.
