DO NOT PURCHASE!

I purchased this ign coil set in feb 2014. When I received it I wanted to verify there coil resistance specification claims because that was one of the main reason that I chose to purchase them. Well long story short none of the spec are true they all spec to the same as OEM. And here we are july 2014 just barely out of the 90 day warranty and one has already failed. They are garbage and the specs are lies. I am an ASE certified vehicle tech with 17+ years experience. I would NOT recommend this product. And suggest that summit drop them as a vendor. ...read more

I installed these coils to a 2001 5.4L AWD Expedition with 150k (getting 15mpg on stock coils with 50k plugs) after blowing 3 Summit Coils out of 8 and 2 MSD out of 8. Yeah, they actually arced and cracked at top of epoxy coil in use, a few miles after installation. 4 (#1,cylinder #3 twice, #4 & #7) different cylinders out of two different brands of coils. Poor quality in appearance too. Then I got the Granatelli's. Epoxy top appeared to have significantly better craftsmanship than previous 2 brands. Installation was easy cause the third time is the charm. 7500 miles later getting 18-19 mpg average combined in town and on the freeway. Motor is idling at 725 rpm's in park and 615 rpm's in drive at a stop. It has improved throttle response with battery level remaining at a consistent 14.1V during all operations including towing and 4x4, in all weather, heater or a/c on. Should have done this with last spark plug change at 100k ...read more

They work. But not as specified

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

I was looking for a performance ignition coil to replace my old OE ones. This Items description specified lower than OE primary & secondary resistance. (less resistance equals more amps equals better spark. When they arrived I tested each coil new out of the box and they all have the same specs as new OE coils. This Items description is false. But none the less they do function as a more affordable option to OE coils. ...read more
