Global West Suspension coil springs generally lower the vehicle 1 inch in the front and up to 1 1/4 inches in the rear, depending on the option for your vehicle. They lower the vehicle to these specs because there is not enough suspension travel beyond 1 in. for street applications. As a linear spring is compressed, the resistance per inch is increased equally to that of the rate. For example, if a spring is rated at 300 lbs. per in., for every inch of travel the spring compresses, the resistance increases 300 lbs. Therefore, 1 in. of compression will provide 300 lbs. of resistance, 2 in. will provide 600 lbs., and 3 in. will provide 900 lbs. These Global West Suspension coil springs will decrease the chance of bottoming out, while increasing performance.
