Firestone Air Ride, Ride Rite Pressure Switch

This switch is the only swith I have found which actually has the proper preset, Non-Adjustable ON/OFF set-points. However, be aware that although it is rated and in fact seems to operate better if in the High Amp side of the circuit for the direct feed of the compressor motor, it will function on the Low Side (Low Amp) side as well, but does not seem to last any longer, Perhaps is not as self flashing/puddling/cleaning of the contacts. Everyone that I have disassembled upon return from the field has been found to be one of 2 failures; either the diaphragm side is corroded and stuck (moist air in compressed air side, or, one of the .250 terminal tabs has corroded off from under-body road salt/corrosives issues. Re-locating this switch inside the vehicle body to avoid terminal tab loss is helpful, but be aware that you may be creating a condensation point on the air side of the diaphragm.....still the best on the market for my application and money. Used one of these for 4 years under my truck along the frame, unprotected. Great unit, lasted a long time.

Bought this to replace the pressure switch on my air bag system for my truck, works better than the original one which had a wider on/off setting.
