Edelbrock's Performer RPM Air-Gap intake manifolds incorporate race-winning technology that's been used on Victor series competition intakes for years. The open air space from the Air-Gap design separates the runners from the heat of the lifter-valley cover. So, the air/fuel mixture stays cooler all the way to the heads, which produces a denser charge for more power. Runners are tuned to move the power band 1,000 rpm higher than Performer Air-Gap manifolds, from idle-5,500 rpm up to 1,500-6,500 rpm.

Retro Air-gap issue, READ THIS!

I am making use of this intake on a 5.9 swapped into a 1979 Dodge Magnum (Cordoba based car)and I will also make use of the serpentine drive that came with the 5.9 with the A/C. And this is where the problem starts. For some reason, why I do not know, Edelbrock moved the water outlet on the intake from it's stock location, passenger front on the intake to the drivers front on the intake. This location doesn't allow you to use the factory brackets unless you drill a hole in the bracket. Use of the A/C is now impossible as delivered. To fix this problem that should never have occurred, I drilled out 1 of the 2 other holes in the intake larger to a 3/8 NPT size to fit the stock nipple in at or near the stock location like the OE intake. Now I can route the coolant to the heater core. The other small hole is for the water temp sending unit. This will require a little more wire than what came on ether the car or truck the engine came from. Now, with a plug to seal the other miss placed hole, I can go a head and install the A/C compressor. ...read more

I put a 1946 dodge pickup body on a 1997 Dakota.Replaced fuel injection with carb for a more old school appearance. The performance is amazing!
