I purchased a set of these fans for my 69 El Camino SS. Living in Florida things get hot. Now with just one fan on my big block stays cool and with both on stays below t-stat opening temp. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Another plus is made in USA.

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

Best fans on the planet, i've bought 4 different brands so far to cool my turbo lq4 300zx and these fans are the ones that finally did the job. Very happy with results.

Derale dual fans

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

These fans work fine mechanically but the solenoids and fuse, fuse block, wiring end connectors are poor quality creating high resistance and high amp draw. The fuse block melted due to heat from high resistance. The fuse did not blow so they did not over amp, they just melted from excessive heat generated by the poor quality electrical components. The product description states these fans draw a combined 50 amp load (25 amps each). That is a lot of current. I tested the load on these and they are definitely pulling over 20 amps each fan. The controller relay and fuse blocks are rated at 25 amps. I am sure this is a max rating and not sustained rating. So the fans draw too much current for the controllers that come with them. Mechanically the fans work great and move a lot of air, it takes a lot of electricity to make that happen. Moving that much air makes them a bit noisy as well. Also, they didn't quite fit the 4 core radiator in my 68 Chevelle. I had to trim them a bit to make them fit, not a real big deal. If I had it to do over again I would stick with a mechanical fan. ...read more
