DEI titanium exhaust wrap with LR technology is constructed from pulverized lava rock, extruded into fibers, and then woven into a tight weave, giving it titanium-like strength and toughness. This improvement in thermal protection helps to reduce underhood temperatures, resulting in cooler air intake for improved performance. And less heat in the engine bay means less chance of heat soak conditions on vital underhood components. Typical glass fiber wrap is rated at handling 1,200 degrees F of maximum direct heat, while Design Engineering's titanium wrap, using LR technology, is capable of handling direct continuous heat up to 1,800 degrees F and radiant heat up to 2,800 degrees F. And because it's pliable, there's no need to wet the wrap when wrapping headers or pipes, as many do in order to make the wrapping process easier to manage and to get a tight wrap. Titanium wrap will not shrink, and because of its material structure, it is more resistant to temperature and vibration breakdown, abrasions, and chemical and hot oil spills than glass fiber wrap. Plus, DEI's titanium wrap offers a very cool carbon fiber look as an added feature!

Nice wrap and easy to use.

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

This wrap is easy to use, and looks great when finished. Be sure to wear gloves and a mask so those pesky fibers don't irritate you. Haven't had it on the car to review the longevity of the wrap.

DEI titanium exhaust wrap.

Looks great when installed, but that's were it ended for me. Wrap will unravel if your not careful while installing, I found a little super glue on the ends helps that problem & it smokes a lot when you first run the engine. Mine smoked for at least 10 to 15 minutes

Only issue was trying to trim up the ends. Otherwise, a good product. Looks good too.

Titanium exhaust wrap

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

After watching a couple of videos on properly installing this product it went on easily. The wrap is excellent and after painting the headers with VHT hi-temp paint and curing in the oven, the wrap portion of the install was easy. You don't have to wet the wrap like they say you have to on the fiberglass wrap and they look pretty good when finished. The wrap did get a little messed up due to the hard install of the headers but that was to be expected. One heads-up, you have to be careful because the fibers tend to unravel at the ends, and there are no instructions. ...read more

Exhaust wrap needs a tighter weave

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

I have used another brand on my Chevy Supercharged 4x4 motorhome years ago which creates a lot of heat with no problem. I needed to cover the collector pipe on my headers since my cable on my shifter was melting so I tried a roll of this Titanium exhaust wrap and was dissipointed because of the looseness of the weave. I had to cover over exhaust clamps and when I pulled tightly over irregular areas there were gaps since it is not tightly woven. The other exhaust wrap is very tightly woven and no problem going over irregular areas no matter how hard I wrapped around it. So I had to buy another roll of a different brand from a local auto parts to cover the gaps. I works ok on smooth pipe surfaces. ...read more
