Crower Sportsman connecting rods feature only the finest USA-made, SAE-certified 4340 chromoly steel that's forged in precision dies to establish better grain flow. Each rod includes aircraft-quality 8740 steel alloy rod bolts that are rated at 180,000 psi and available in through-bolt and cap screw bolt designs. They have extra big-end webbing for added strength and single-ribbed caps that deliver distortion-free performance, while removing excess weight from a non-critical area. Their well-engineered small end guarantees long, reliable pin life, and each rod has a drilled and chamfered pin oil hole that puts additional oil at the wrist pin to prevent galling. The available stroker design allows additional cam-to-rod clearance for strokes above 3.750 in.
