I recently installed these on my 87 Mustang 5.0 convertible to try and stiffen up the chassis. Before installing, if vehicle was raised in air on lift, doors would not want to close due to flex. After installing them the doors were able to be opened and closed. Defenetly stiffened the chassis! If you do install these on a convertible, you will notice they interfear with the "Ford convertible reinforcement" pieces added at the factory (the ones that appear to be about 12 X 12 inches). I installed these as a bolt-on to improve the factory stamped sheet metal braces on my 1991 convertible. I did have cut away a section of both of the rear factory body braces. After which, The process is very straight forward, they fit without any other issue. Tips & Hints: 1. Drop the mufflers. This makes room for drilling the rear holes. 2. Use a stubby drill or short uni-bit stepped drill to drill the inside front holes. 3. A sawzall helps to clearance the rear factory stamped braces. ...read more
