Pretty Good Sealant

I used this sealant in quite a few places on a new small block Chevy build. The head bolts enter water jackets on the block, and oil from the lifter valley has a tendency to climb the intake manifold bolts and weep (possibly making an ugly mess on your new aluminum intake), unless some kind of sealant is used. This works great, is easy to apply, and is non-hardening. ...read more

Disappointed in product!

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

I used this ARP recommended sealer on ARP head studs, pipe plugs in water pump and intake and temperature sensor in intake - they all leaked when the engine reached operating temperature (180 degrees). I was especially disappointed in using it on the head studs when coolant started running past the studs, into the heads, then down into the oil pan. A complete teardown back to a short block and putback ended up costing about $150 (gaskets and fluids - not including a full weekend of labor). The replacement sealer I purchased worked as advertised and even locked the studs to the block. Don ...read more
