Professional Products now offers these very inexpensive electronic fuel pumps that are ideal for replacing that stock pump when it dies. Easily installed, the pumps come in two versions. One supplies a working pressure of 4 to 7 psi, which is suitable for most carbureted domestic vehicles. The second version supplies a working pressure of 2 1/2 to 4 psi, which is typically used on many carbureted import vehicles. Check your vehicle's requirements to select the correct pump for your application.

Just installed it in a 3x2 carbed 77 Comet

This looks identical to the old Purolator pump of the same capacity I ran in a V8 Ranger for 10+ years. It replaced a MrGasket 12s that failed after 6 months. Time will tell, but I see no reason this pump should not last 10+ years too. Good all steel construction, screw in brass nipples. The MrGasket was mostly plastic with the outlet nipple pressed in that worked loose while I was working on the pump in the car. more
