Engines installed in vehicles registered and normally operated outside of the United States carry no warranty. Clutch linkage bosses are drilled and tapped, plus includes a provision for a mechanical fuel pump. From the bottom of the valley to the top of the intake manifold measures 11 in.

From Chevrolet Performance comes this Ram Jet 502, you either have one or you want one. These crate engines are 502 c.i.d. cast iron Gen VI, and 4-bolt main, 1-piece rear seal with priority mains oiling. They are approximately 9.6:1 compression with 502 hp at 5,100 rpm and have 565 ft./lbs. of torque at 3,200 rpm. Designed for ease of installation, the Ram Jet 502 needs only 12V, ground, coolant, exhaust, fuel feed and fuel return to run. Included are an instruction sheets, service manual and diagnostic tools for ease of installation and service. As with any Chevrolet Performance Ram Jet engine, an in tank fuel pump is recommended to avoid possible vapor lock. Also included is complete throttle linkage that accepts your production throttle cable and transmission cable. Includes new pre-programmed MEFI 4 ECM and wiring harness. This revised electronic and closed loop system gives a much smoother idle and better performance. The Ram Jet manifold stands eleven inches tall as measured from the front and rear "china wall" on the cylinder block. That's just half an inch taller than a typical single plane high-rise manifold, Holley carburetor and air cleaner combo. Items used to on these crate engines are as follows; Steel 4 in. storke, nitrided and cross drilled externally balanced crankshafts, forged steel shot-peened magnaflux inspected with 7/16 bolts connecting rods originally used in LS6/LS7 engines. Forged pistons with pressed pins, hydraulic roller camshafts with .527 in. intake lift, .544 in. exhaust lift, and duration at .050 in. for intake is 224 and 234 for exhaust. Hydraulic roller lifters, stamped steel 1.7:1 ratio rocker arms, with aluminum large oval port 110cc semi open combustion chambers, 290cc intake runners, Intake valves are 2.25 in. and exhaust are 1.88 inch. Included is an 8 in. balancer, 14 in. automatic flexplate with standard torque converter bolt pattern when using 4L80E only three bolts can be used. 6-quart oil pans with windage trays are installed. Distributors are HEI-style small caps with external coils, red Chevrolet Performance Parts high-performance spiral core spark plug wires with high-temperature boots, and valve covers top them off.
