These Monroe Gas-Magnum shocks provide firm control without a harsh ride by using up to twice the fluid capacity of standard 1 in. bore shocks. This special all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction. They also feature full displaced valving, giving better valving range on both the compression and extension cycles for a smooth, comfortable ride. The Monroe Gas-Magnum shocks use a sintered iron piston, which is stronger than traditional metals, to enhance durability for longer service life. Then they are nitrogen gas charged for improved ride and handling, helping to maintain tire-to-road contact by reducing aeration. Their large 2 in. reserve tube allows for more fluid-producing consistent performance, while their 1 3/8 in. bore offers more lowering pressure than conventional 1 in. bore shocks. The Monroe Gas Magnum shocks are finished off with a 5/8 in. heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod and a special self-lubricating fluid seal to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
