Fel-Pro Performance oil pan gaskets offer three types of construction. Some are made from Felcoid/Plus, a special fiber core with a latex rubber coating. For applications where a tougher gasket is needed, others have a solid steel core wrapped with rubber coated fiber facing material. For newer engines, there are one-piece molded silicone-rubber gaskets specifically designed to handle their special needs. Some of these gaskets have a solid steel core, while others have a rigid carrier-type design. Fel-Pro oil pan gaskets come with an anti-stick treatment for easy removal.

High quality gasket

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

I used a Milodon oil pan and an Edelbrock aluminum timing gear cover. The end pieces of this gasket don't fit right and this is due to the difference in timing covers and aftermarket oil pans. What I did was cut the end sections off and used Permatex "The Right Stuff". This is where almost all of the leaks occur. The side rail pieces have the bolt hole inserts that prevent over tightening, and this makes for a leak free installation. I would recommend that Fel-Pro also sell this gasket without end pieces. I would use this combination again. ...read more

Best gasket out there.

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

Gasket is stepped on both to fill the void created by the main cap register saddles. There was no gasket maker needed. Metal spacers are embedded around each hole to keep from over tightening and splitting the gasket. I have used these in the past and had very good results re-using them as well, I will never use another standard/cork gasket.

gasket didn't work for me

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

My first time trying a one piece gasket via recommendation from different parts sales counter people. Gasket rubber is three times as thick for the timing cover end and two times as thick for the rear main end than a standard multi-piece gasket set. I tried to use it but couldn't hardly get my bolts through the pan into the block because of the thickness difference. When I tightened the bolts it would bulge the gasket out the front of engine before pan was tight. I don't understand why anyone would make a gasket that is not the same thickness as the multi-gasket that works for your application. Will never try a one piece gasket again. Waste of my money and time. I installed a standard multi-piece gasket on my engine without any problems. ...read more
