Take care of your ignition problems with one of these electronic ignition conversion kits. These magnetic impulse systems have many advantages over break-type ignition systems. They require less frequent tune-ups, and offer increased secondary voltage, improved starting, more precise timing and dwell, and increased spark plug life. These packages include a distributor with a high-performance advance curve, wiring harness, electronic control unit, ballast resistor, and installation instructions.

Mopar's Electronic Ignition to replace point OEM

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

I have installed 5 of these kits and they work very well and are relatively simple to install. The one thing to watch out for is that the rotor point direction as related to the slot of the cam shaft that drives the distributor is not always in the same place as the point distributor you replace it with so make sure you have the timing set fo r firing the number one cylinder before removing the old distributor and that the new distributor is set to fire the number one plug wire under the cap. The new ignition will make the engine come alive with enthusiasm and perhaps any pinging you had may be gone because of the new advance. Suggest you buy a spare brain module as a back up for long trips. I have had two go bad after several years, not unlike alternators, starters, batteries, etc. more
