What They Are: Doug Thorley Tri-Y Headers
Why They’re Cool: They outperform stock exhaust manifolds while delivering improved gas mileage and increased horsepower—plus they have that classic muscle car sound. The headers have 1 5/8 in. diameter primary tubes and a Tri-Y configuration that builds torque in the middle rpm range right where street-driven Mustangs can use it.
Built to last, the silver ceramic-coated Tri-Y headers are made from durable 14-gauge mild steel with 3/8-in. thick flanges and 5/16-in. collector rings. To prevent leaks, the headers have an O-ring welded into the flange in addition to the high-temperature gasket provided. The headers are designed to fit the vehicle as it came from the factory.
