TALLMADGE, OH --
TALLMADGE, OHIO--Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park was named as “Drag Strip of the Year” by drag racing fans in the ninth annual Dot Com Awards held by CompetitionPlus.com. Nearly 20,000 individuals voted for Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park as drag racing’s top facility on CompetitionPlus.com, a popular site serving the drag racing community.
In September 2006, the track underwent a four million dollar expansion project, which included 12 new luxury suites, a state-of-the-art media center, tower renovations, and paving in the professional pit area. In June 2007, Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park hosted its first NHRA national event, the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals.
The track was recently named “Best Race Track Facility” by the editors of Drag Racing Action magazine, and the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals was named one of the top 10 stories of 2007 by National Dragster, the official publication of the NHRA. In addition to the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, which return June 26-29, 2008, the track also hosts NHRA Lucas Oil Divisional Events, Fun Ford Weekend, Night Under Fire, Goodguys Blue Suede Cruise, and the famous Halloween Classic.
